Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty coming to Strood Sport Centre

A world record-holding Olympian is set to take to the water to inspire the next generation of champions.
Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty will be visiting Strood Sports Centre, Watling Street, to deliver a race clinic for youngsters.
Places for the clinic were fully-booked in just two hours.
The 50m and 100m breaststroke world record-holder will coach the session for eight to 17 year-olds on Tuesday, August 13.
He will be joined by 2016 Rio Olympian Tim Shuttleworth, Youth Commonwealth Champion Edward Baxter and strength and conditioning coach Rob Norman, who has been coaching Adam and Edward for the last two years.
Adam is currently a five-time World Champion, a twelve-time European Champion and a three-time Commonwealth Champion.
He brought home a gold medal following his success at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Cllr Howard Doe, Medway Council’s portfolio holder for housing and community services, said: "We’re delighted that the Adam Peaty Race Clinics will be coming to Medway as part of their regional tour.
"Medway has excellent sporting facilities and has produced some fantastic sports stars. Adam is an inspiration to many and we can’t wait to welcome him and his team to Medway.”
