Two men have admitted being involved in a running fight through rush-hour traffic.

Charles 'Charley' and Jack Patrick were charged with affray and weapons offences following the violent scenes in Walderslade Road, Chatham, last month.

Witnesses reported two cars colliding at around 5.30pm on Friday, April 5.

The Patricks appeared at Maidstone Crown Court yesterday and admitted affray in relation to the incident, although 30-year-old Charles' basis of plea has not been accepted by prosecutors.

He and Jack, 22, deny possessing a hammer and baseball bat respectively.

Charles was remanded in custody and Jack was released on unconditional bail.

Both have no fixed address but are previously of Gorse Road, on the Weedswood Estate.

Jack is due back in court next month to dispute the weapons charge and Charles will next appear in September.

An 18-year-old man, from Rochester, and a 19-year-old man, from Chatham, also arrested on suspicion of affray following the incident remain under investigation.
