Emergency services called to Whiffen’s Avenue in Chatham

A man was flown to hospital by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries after he is believed to have fallen from scaffolding.

Paramedics were called to Whiffen’s Avenue, in Chatham, on Friday (July 28) at around 1.45pm to reports of a fall from height.

They were joined by the air ambulance and the man was treated at the scene.

He was then airlifted to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police officers also attended the incident at around 2pm.

It is believed the person was a labourer working on a Medway Development Company site – but this has not been officially confirmed.

A Medway Development Company spokesperson said: “We were saddened to hear about the medical incident and our thoughts are currently with the man and his family.”
