Former property surveyor Ian Parris hopes his new business venture proves just the ticket.

The dad-of-two is hoping to take over an old booking office at a village railway station and turn it into a pizza takeaway and cafe.

When lockdown scuppered his London-based job, Ian looked to other ways of making a living closer to home.

Growing up in Snodland, he saw how many commuters used the nearby Halling station to travel to and from the capital every day.

He also realised there was nowhere for passengers to grab a coffee or a bite to eat.

So when the chance to take over the old redundant building in Station Approach came along, he grabbed it.

He has been getting his hand in the catering business by running his business – E's Pizza Revolution – from a trailer in Leybourne.

He first got the appetite for dishing out the Italian favourite dish after buying a pizza oven and being complimented by friends and family.

He said: "I love pizza, so thought 'why not?' I was making my own pizzas for up to 20 people and they all liked it."

Ian likes to experiment with his toppings and apart from the traditional favourites has used Marmite on garlic bread base by popular request.

He has applied to Medway Council's planning department for a cafe and pizzeria alongside a takeaway and delivery service.

He hopes to open between 6.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 11pm on Saturday and 9am to 10pm on Sunday.
