Police descended on a residential street following reports of a burglary.

Officers were called to The Ridgeway in Chatham at 4.40pm yesterday after a home was raided.

Fire crews were also spotted in the street, which links Walderslade Road and Maidstone Road.

They were called to help following a report there may have been a suspected fire in the property, but no evidence was found.

A police spokesman said: “Officers attended the scene in The Ridgeway, Chatham where there was damage found to a window and a door.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.”
