Police appeal for witnesses to road crash

Police officers investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash in Rainham, are appealing for witnesses.

The crash happened in Mierscourt Road, on Monday, August 17.

Police say it could have happened between 3 and 5pm.

The accident involved a white transit van and a Ford Fiesta and a parked van.

It is thought the transit van collided with the Ford Fiesta and also the parked vehicle.

The driver of the transit van was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with a suspected broken jaw.

A Gillingham man, 20, was later arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and drink driving, he was released on bail.

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the white transit van in the area of Kenilworth Road before the collision, or anyone who saw the incident.
