Police were called to a dispute - amid reports it involved a man wielding weapons.

The incident happened on Railway Street in Gillingham, and officers attended at 9.59pm.

Reports on social media suggested a man was near the train station with a samurai sword and a baseball bat and several people claimed to have seen a boy with a knife in the area.

But Kent Police has not confirmed these reports.

A spokesman for the force said: “We were called to a report of a disturbance in Railway Street, Gillingham, where it was alleged that a number of people were involved in a dispute.

“Those involved were reported to have left the area before officers arrived. No arrests were made and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
