Police operation closes Dock Road, Chatham

A car which was being pursued by police has collided with traffic, bringing a main road into a town to a standstill.

Police tried to stop the vehicle in Dock Road, Chatham, at 10.30am.

The driver did not stop and collided with a number of other vehicles which were travelling in the opposite direction.

Police have closed the road at the junction with Globe Lane.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

It is unknown why police were pursuing the vehicle, and no injuries have been reported.
