Firefighters called after woman crashes car into tree in Kestrel Road, Lordswood

A woman has been treated by paramedics after her car crashed into a tree in Lordswood.

Firefighters were called to Kestrel Road just before 4.30pm after a woman, aged 60 to 70, crashed into a tree.

The car, a Renault megane, was badly damaged and had a severe fuel leak.

The woman was taken into the care of paramedics at the scene and her injuries are not thought to be serious.

The Kings Ferry tweeted to tell commuters officers had closed the shops, and that they would be dropping passengers off around the corner.

A shopkeeper who did not wish to be named said there had been an accident at the roundabout which is used by buses.

He added that all of the shops were still open as usual.
