Police dog Monty rewarded with extra treats after arrests in Sheerness and Gillingahm

A police dog is being rewarded with extra treats after he helped officers make two arrests.

PD Monty and his handler PC Nigel Marshall were called to Sheerness on Monday morning as officers were trying to arrest a man wanted on suspicion of assault.

The suspect gave up when challenged by PD Monty and was arrested.

A few hours later Monty helped officers arrest another suspect in Gillingham on suspicion of assault.

Gage Higgins, 20, of no fixed address, has been bailed to appear at Mid Kent Magistrates Court on Friday, September 22.

Jack Edwards, 23, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody and is due in court charged with GBH.
