Police helicopter searching for driver who 'failed to stop' in Walderslade, Chatham

The police helicopter is hunting a driver who allegedly failed to stop for officers.

The suspect reportedly fled after crashing in the Tunbury Avenue area of Chatham.

The vehicle has since been found abandoned.

The police helicopter, which covers Kent and Essex.

A police spokesman said: "The helicopter is assisting officers on the ground searching for a driver who is alleged to have failed to stop for police in Heron Way, Chatham, at around 10.30am on Monday 1 February.

"A vehicle has been found abandoned in Highgrove Road. Enquiries to locate the driver are ongoing."
