Police are hunting this man over two assaults in Chatham

Do you recognise this man? Police have released an e-fit of a man suspected of trying to assault two teenagers in Chatham.

Officers would like to speak to the bespectacled young man pictured in this computer-generated image over the attempted attacks.

He is said to have tried to grab a 19-year-old woman as she walked along Rochester Street, but she pushed him away and ran to a nearby shop.

The woman escaped unhurt in the incident, at about 9pm on Thursday, November 4.

Then five days later a 16-year-old girl was approached by a man in Dale Street who attempted to grab her. The teenager shouted at the man and he fled.

She was also unhurt in the attempted assault, between 4.15pm and 4.40pm on Tuesday, November 9.

The suspect in both cases is described as white or possibly Asian and between 5ft 6in and 5ft 9in.

He is aged between 18 and 25, was clean-shaven and wore silver-rimmed square glasses.

PC Stuart Clayton, from Medway Police, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who might recognise this man, as we believe he can help with our investigation.

"Fortunately on both occasions the women were unhurt and managed to raise the alarm with police quickly.

"Our officers have carried out door-to-door enquiries and are on hand to offer any support or advice to residents."

Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 01634 792658 or CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
