Police have blocked a road in Rochester after a driver reportedly swerved to avoid a cat and crashed.

Cones and patrol cars are obstructing access to Pattens Lane at the junction of City Way.

A staff member at Karson's Pharmacy, situated next to the roadblock, said: "Some staff members ran out to have a look and it turns out a person was driving when a cat ran out into the road.

"I believe they swerved to avoid the cat and crashed into two cars.

"Now I think the cat has ran away."
