Police are searching a block of flats after a woman was attacked this morning.

The victim was found covered in blood in Luton Road, Chatham, at around 8.30am.

Police cordoned off the busy route but it is now open to traffic and their attention has moved to a property on the same road.

Police have cordoned off a property in Luton Road (7433207)

Forensic officers are investigating the property.

There were five buses caught up in the original cordon, meaning passengers had to alight before their trip was complete.

People were left stranded at bus stops as no service could run through the area.

The buses have now been able to leave the scene.
