Police searching River Medway in Borstal and Cuxton area after concerns for woman

A search operation has been stood down after concerns were raised for a woman's welfare.

Police were called shortly after 4pm to Borstal following reports from the public who were worried about a woman.

The search had been focussing on an area close to the river between Borstal and Cuxton.

A police spokesman said officers were carrying out a search.

A fire service spokesman confirmed at 8.45pm teams from the fire service boat unit had been called out to assist police near the Medway Valley Leisure Park.

The woman has been found safe.
