One of Rochester's most popular characters has died from Covid-19.

Terry Morgan, who ran Tiny Tim's tea shop with wife Denise, passed away on Tuesday, aged 64.

Tributes from customers and friends have flooded in for the grandad, who lived in Lordswood.

Denise, 60, his wife of 40 years, said: "He was a good, kind man. He would do anything for anyone.

"And to be honest, perhaps I did not appreciate that."

Among his many friends was Dudley Pearce who previously ran his souvenir business from the same premises in Northgate before the Morgan family took over the lease eight years ago.

Now 72, the Rochester resident, who is recovering from the virus himself, described his mate Terry.

He said: "He was kind, friendly and always joking with customers.

"He loved children and serving them ice cream. He was outside the cafe, chatting to people and because he liked to know what was going on in Rochester."

In his spare time he liked to collect model trains, planes and boats.

The couple have four sons, Robert, Steve, Mark and Adam and three grandchildren.
