Kent faces power cuts - and could soon be lit like this

Thousands of people are trying to stay warm this afternoon following a power cut.

Supplies were cut to 2,820 customers in the Charing Road area of Twydall at 2.04pm because of a fault on the high voltage network.

Pensioner Jim Moore, who lives in the road, said: "It's going to get very cold if we're without power for long because it's so cold outside.

"I've also got a lot of food in the freezer, and I'm worried about that getting spoilt."
