Lanes have been closed and traffic is moving slowly on the M2 due to a broken down vehicle.

The vehicle is in lane three of the London-bound carriageway near junction 3 for the A229, Chatham, Rochester and Maidstone.

Lane two, three and four are closed while recovery work takes place.

A police spokesman said they were called just before 12.45pm.

He added: "There is some traffic congestion and police officers are attending the scene."
