A229 Blue Bell Hill cleared after 'severe' accident

A crash described as 'severe' caused congestion this afternoon.

The north-bound carriageway of the A229 Blue Bell Hill backed up with traffic as emergency services created a diversion around the scene.

The off slip was closed for the Lord Lees Roundabout toward Junction 3 of the M2.

Traffic was diverted along the main A229 Maidstone Road carriageway towards the Horsham Retail Park roundabout and back onto the southbound Lord Lees slip road.

A heavy emergency service presence attended, and motorists were warned to expect delays in the area.
