Maidstone Road, Chatham, shut at junction with Walderslade Road after crash

A road was closed following a three vehicle crash where one person was injured.

Motorists are being told to expect delays as Maidstone Road, Chatham, was shut at the junction with Walderslade Road.

It happened close to St Stephen's Playgroup and staff said they saw police cars at the scene and the road was reopened at around 12.30pm.

Police spokesman Jo Pattison said: "Police were called at around 10.30am to reports of a collision between three vehicles in Maidstone Road, Chatham.

"Officers are at the scene alongside the ambulance service. One person is being treated at the scene for injuries."

Meanwhile there are big delays on the M2 after a lorry overturned and left plant and machinery strewn across the carriageway.
