This was the scene after a car smashed through two front garden walls in Rochester.

The Skoda Fabia crashed in Pattens Lane and ended up embedded in the garden walls of two homes yesterday.

It is not clear why the car left the road at about 5.30pm, but police confirmed nobody was injured.

Rochester motorist Daniel Towers was driving home from work at about 6pm when he saw the aftermath of the crash and took these pictures.

Mr Towers, 36, said: "There was a police car in front of it with an officer sitting in it. I guess he was guarding the scene.

"There was a lot of damage to the front of the car and the two walls. Maybe the car crashed because the road was wet as it had been raining all day."

A police spokesman added the recovery vehicle removed the car from the gardens shortly after 7pm.
