A primary school has been placed in special measures after being found to be "inadequate" in all four categories.

Ofsted inspectors were called into to Twydall Primary School after a "serious incident" was brought to their attention.

Children will sit the test tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday, or Saturday

The school in Twydall Lane, which merged with the infants school in September 2011, has plummeted from a good rating given two years ago.

"We do not consider this is a true reflection of the quality of our school's provision" - head Sue Fedosiuk

The education regulators ruled that that school scored four, the lowest grade, in achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils, leadership and management.

Sue Fedosiuk, head teacher, said: "Although we have to accept Ofsted's judgement, we do not consider this is a true and accurate reflection of the quality of our school's provision.

"Ofsted has graded all aspects of the school as inadequate and therefore this places the school in the category of special measures.

"We would like to offer parents the opportunity to come and discuss this report and hear about the actions that are being taken to secure rapid improvement."

The meeting is in the lower school hall at 7pm next Monday (May 12).
