Police are investigating the theft of a boat and trailer from a Scout group in Gillingham.

A blue Scorpio, up to 20ft long, was taken from a compound at The Strand.

The theft was believed to have taken place sometime between May 3 and May 4.

Both the boat and trailer are owned by the 4th Gillingham Scouts.

Investigating officer, PC Helen Cole of Kent Police, said: "I am appealing to anyone who might have seen a near 20ft boat coming out of The Strand, or in fact while in transit both in and out of the Medway area.

"I would also like to ask all those who use boats around the county to keep an eye out and to contact police if you are offered a deal for a boat that’s too good to be true."

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Cole on 01634 792120, quoting reference XY/15400/15 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
