A second man has been arrested and charged after smoke grenades were thrown on the pitch during Gillingham's game against Charlton on Saturday.

Charles Priston, 24, of Bladindon Drive in Bexley, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a smoke grenade after being searched.

He has been charged with the offence and bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on Tuesday 3 October 2017.

This follows the arrest of Brouge Stevens, 20 of Cobhan Chase in Faversham on suspicion of throwing a smoke grenade and possessing an offensive weapon.

He has since been charged with both offences and bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on Tuesday 10 October 2017.

Two 20-year-old men, one from Swanley and the other from Thamesmead, were also arrested on suspicion of assault.

Extra police had been brought in following the London Terror Attack.

The Gills beat Charlton Athletic 1-0 and was watched by more than 7,000 people.
