A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries following a collision with a car.

Princes Avenue in Chatham remains closed in both directions following the crash.

It happened at around 5.10pm and witnesses said police dog units and specialist accident investigators have been spotted at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Officers are currently at the scene and a road closure is in place between the junctions of North Dane Way and Swift Crescent.

"South East Coast Ambulance Service are also in attendance and it has been reported that the motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries."
