Seven Medway Schools awarded more than £50,000 for travel plan

Seven schools have been awarded £53,985 for developing a travel plan this year.

Chatham Boys Grammar

Medway Council’s Safer Journeys Team has been working with Bligh Junior, Strood; Byron Primary, Gillingham; Chatham Boys Grammar (left), Halling Primary, Hempstead Junior, Rainham Mark Grammar and Robert Napier, Gillingham.

The plans help tackle travel concerns, strengthen the school’s partnership with the council and other partners and deals with road safety issues.More than 85 per cent of Medway schools now have a School Travel Plan.
