Police appeal for witnesses after woman approaches young children in Sports Direct's Strood High Street store

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman reportedly approached two young children in a Sports Direct store.

The incident occurred at the retailer’s Stood High Street outlet at around 3.30pm on Saturday.

Officers are reviewing CCTV footage to establish the circumstances, with the woman said to have approached the children on two separate occasions.

She is described as being in her 30s, with long black hair in a ponytail.

She was wearing a black top, black and white patterned leggings and black pumps, carrying a white carrier bag with writing on it.

Detective Sergeant Paul Fewtrell from Kent Police said: “We are carrying out enquiries to trace the woman involved, who we believe was also with two men.

“We are carrying out enquiries to trace the woman involved, who we believe was also with two men."

“No parents reported any concerns to police but we are eager to speak to them, and anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw anything that they believe to be suspicious, or relevant to our enquiries.”
