More details have emerged about the tragic death of teenager Kyle Yule as a second boy charged with his murder appeared at Maidstone Crown Court.

Kyle, 17, was chased from a car as rival gangs from Chatham and Gillingham clashed, said prosecutor Philip Bennetts QC. He ran to his home but was fatally stabbed on his doorstep.

A tyre on the car was slashed in East Street in Gillingham when the violence broke out in the early evening of Friday, October 6.

But it was refused by Judge Jeremy Carey, who remanded the boy in custody to HMP Cookham Wood in Rochester.

He will next appear with co-accused Victor Maibvisira, 19, of St John’s Road, Gillingham, on November 14, when they are due to enter pleas.

A provisional trial date has been set for April 3 next year.
