Lanes on the M2 are closed for repair works this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow.

Work is being carried out on the London bound carriageway near junction 2 for Strood.

Roadworks has closed part of the motorway

Kent Highways has warned drivers to expect delays in the area.

The off-slip road at junction 2 for A228 Snodland and lane one of the main carriageway will be closed while repairs are carried out. Lanes two and three will remain open.

All of the closed lanes will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.

Repairs will take place overnight tomorrow when a full closure will be required to minimise disruption. The repair will be complete by Thursday morning and the road fully reopened.

There will be additional traffic officer patrols and free recovery will be in place to deal with any breakdowns.

During the overnight full closure - on Wednesday night - a clearly signed diversion will be in place.
