Police were called after travellers moved onto land at a retail centre last night.
Officers received a report of an unauthorised encampment in Horsted Retail Park, Chatham at 9am this morning.
It is thought the group moved onto the site in the early hours.
This morning at least eight caravans and several other vehicles were parked outside the former Toys R Us building.
Police say he matter will be dealt with by the landowner, which is the standard procedure in terms of any eviction process.
