Large convoy of traveller caravans park up in field in Bligh Way, Strood

A large convoy of travellers in caravans have pitched up by a field.

The group were spotted last night (July 10) near Bligh Primary School, Strood – less than a mile from where an unauthorised encampment were moved on from.

A group of caravans have been spotted parked up in Bligh Way, Strood

On Monday, a group which had pitched up on Laburnum Road Recreation Ground more than a month ago were finally moved on.

It is not yet known if this is the same group.

Ian Gilmore, head of regulatory and environmental services at Medway Council, said: “We are aware of the group and are following a civil legal process to move the group on.”
