Trains delayed due to naked trespasser on line at Chatham

There were delays on the rails this morning after a naked trespasser reportedly got onto the tracks.

The man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and outraging public decency following the alleged stunt at Chatham station.

British Transport Police and Kent Police officers were called just before 9.30am.

The electric current was switched off to allow police to access the tracks and detain the suspect.

He was given luminous police jackets to wrap up in as he was led away.

He remains in police custody.

Trains were delayed

Services between Strood and Rainham were affected.

The line reopened just after 10am.
