The Medway Tunnel was closed after a lorry crashed into lights and a sign last night.

The Strood-bound tunnel was shut from 8.30pm after the incident involving a heavy goods vehicle, which damaged 15 lights and a sign.

Contractors were sent to make the scene safe and the tunnel was reopened at 11pm.

Arrangements are being made for the lights to be repaired.
