Two women have been arrested after a fire was reportedly started inside a public toilet.

The suspected arson took place in the toilets by Aldi in Strood High Street on Saturday (October 7).

A woman in her 30s was arrested a short time after the incident on suspicion of causing criminal damage and arson.

She has since been bailed until January 5, 2024, while further inquiries are made.

A woman in her 40s was arrested yesterday (October 8) on suspicion of causing criminal damage and arson.

She remains in custody.
