Police recover large haul of cocaine and cash in Medway

Police have seized six kilograms of cocaine in Medway.

Officers also found around £100,000 in cash as they executed search warrants at homes in Chorister Crescent, Hoo; Ranscombe Close, Rochester, and at a garage in Seagull Road, Strood.

Quantities of amphetamine, as well as designer watches and clothing, were also discovered in the action on Friday.

Two men were arrested and later charged in connection with the haul.

They have been remanded in custody and will appear before Medway Magistrates Court tomorrow.

David Squires, 44, of Chorister Crescent, Rochester, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of amphetamine and possession of criminal property.

Lewis Squires, 22, also of Chorister Crescent, Rochester, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property.

Update: David Squires was remanded in custody to appear before a jury at a date to be determined.

Lewis Squires was also remanded in custody to appear before a Crown Court on April 6.
