Two women released without charge after stabbing

Two women arrested in connection with a double stabbing in Chatham yesterday (Sunday) have been released without charge.

Three people were initially arrested. One man is still in police custody at Medway Police Station.

The women are in their 20s.

The two men who were stabbed have had surgery and are still in Medway Maritime Hospital.

Both are in a stable condition.

The stabbings happened at about 3am in Upper Luton Road, and the incident closed the road for most of the day, while forensic officers carried out their investigations.

Police say they believe the wounds may have been inflicted by a kitchen knife, and not a Samurai sword as some people living in the road believed.
