Full power was finally restored to homes in the village of High Halstow after nine hours.

Thirteen houses in Sharnal Street were affected by a fault in the power lines which left residents with only low voltage power yesterday.
Derek Waggett, 75, was one of the people affected.
He said: “There was a power cut which only lasted a minute at the most. Then when the power came back on it was only at half the voltage. “Things aren’t working properly in the house, for example the kettle takes twice as long to boil.”
Power supplies were returned to normal at around 6pm.

“We would like to apologise to the customers affected as we do appreciate how inconvenient low voltages can be.”
