Witnesses to robbery sought

Witnesses are being sought following a robbery at a corner shop.

The incident took place at the Mini Mart at the junction with Barnsole Road and Brasenose Road in Gillingham on Monday, September 28.

Four men entered the shop at about 10.45pm with their faces covered.

A 22-year-old man was working in the shop at the time. He was threatened by one of them men who is believed to have been carrying a knife. He was not hurt.

Cash in the region of £500 and cigarettes worth about £200 were stolen.

Det Ch Insp Mick Judge said: “The offenders ran out of the shop onto Barnsole Road and onto an alleyway leading to Junction Road. They then got into a Silver BMW parked on Junction Road with the junction of Louisville Road. The men left in the car towards Gillingham Town Centre.”

The vehicle was found abandoned in Longhill Avenue, near Medway Maritime Hospital, where it had been abandoned.
