A woman has admitted making threats to kill after an incident where bomb disposal teams were called to her home.

Zoe Haines, 48, of Dale Road, Rochester, pleaded guilty to the charge at Medway Magistrates Court.

She was detained by police at 3.30pm on Monday, after reports of a woman causing a disturbance in Barnsole Road, Gillingham.

A bomb disposal unit and police searched her house yesterday morning.

Police spokesman Vicki Foster said: "During the search suspicious items were found and a Ministry of Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit was called to attend along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service."

The two neighbouring houses were evacuated and the road was cordoned off near its junction with Pickwick Street.

Fire crews and the bomb disposal unit left the scene but police are still investigating at the property.

Haines was remanded in custody is due to appear in Maidstone Crown Court in the next four weeks.
