A young woman suffered facial injuries after she was assaulted on a night out in Rochester.

The student was reportedly thrown headfirst into a shop window as she tried to calm a confrontation between her boyfriend and three men.

It is reported the men - who were unknown to the couple - had started to punch and kick her partner when she stepped in to help.
