Young man seriously hurt in Strood sledging accident

A man was airlifted to hospital after a sledging accident in Broomhill Park, Strood, on Thursday.

The victim, who is in his 20s, suffered serious head injuries when he was struck by sledge. He was taken to the neuro-surgical centre at Queens Hospital in Romford by Kent Air Ambulance.

A spokesman for Kent Air Ambulance said: "The doctor and paramedic anaesthetised the man at the scene before flying him to the specialist unit.

"His condition is not thought to be life threatening."
