Lia Lou Di Massa from Chatham killed in car crash in Italy

A young woman has been killed in a car accident in Italy.

Lia Lou Di Massa from Chatham died after the car she was in crashed into a wall in Massa Lubrense near Naples.

According to Italian media, she had been on her way back from a nightclub in the early hours of Tuesday morning when the incident happened.

A man has been arrested in connection with the crash.

Lia had been a student at Bishop of Rochester Academy, now The Victory Academy, Magpie Hall Road, Chatham.

She was staying it Italy over the summer.

Speaking today Mandy Gage, executive principal at The Victory Academy, said: “This is absolutely tragic. Lia Lou had an indomitable spirit, and a character and an energy that shone through in all that she did.

“All our thoughts are with her family and we have offered them our support at this terribly sad time.”
