A family has been working hard to spread joy this spring while raising money for the NHS.

Jasmine Mark, 10, from Rochester, was overwhelmed with the response after her mother put out an appeal for people to buy her homemade Easter baskets.

Over 10 days, The Pilgrim School pupil delivered the treats to those who ordered them for loved ones and made drop-offs to Medway Maritime Hospital, which she was raising money for.

She also made donations to the Wisdom Hospice in Rochester and Demelza House in Sittingbourne.

Some of Jasmine's deliveries were to children whose grandparents had bought one for their grandchildren as they would not be seeing them during the Easter holiday.

Her mother Jennifer said: "She wanted to raise money for the NHS and she didn't know what she could do, so as a family we thought of doing the Easter baskets.

"More people than we expected wanted them.

"It was quite good for her to see how the community got into helping us and the NHS; she was bringing Easter to them because a lot of people can't leave their homes."

The money raised by Jasmine was doubled by Barclays, who Jennifer works for, and in total she raised £2,050.
