Reuben Smith has qualified for the BMX World Championships for the third consecutive year.

The Rochester rider will be competing in Holland between August 14-23.

Reuben Smith will compete in the next BMX World Championship

Criteria for making the Worlds is tough, with only the best 14 riders making it. With so little meaningful racing of late this was done on 2019 ranking points.

Smith had been hoping to attend the World Championships in Texas in 2020 but the Corona virus ended those hopes. But he’ll now get another shot on the big stage.

He’s been recovering from a broken wrist, which he sustained six weeks ago, but has now got the all-clear to start racing again. While out injured he’s been working on his stamina at his local gym, the Rochester Health Club while training on zoom.

Sponsors are welcome, particularly as Reuben has recently shot up in height and all of his equipment has needed upgrading.
