Sittingbourne have announced the signing of striker Roman Campbell on a permanent deal following his departure from Gillingham.

The young forward hasn't featured for Gills' senior team under boss Steve Evans.

Multiple loan moves have seen the player twice play for the Brickies, enjoying productive spells at the end of last season and the beginning of this one.

Sittingbourne manager Chris Lynch announced on facebook that he had managed to sign the player again, this time permanently.

He said: "Please welcome back fans favourite and last seasons joint top goal scorer, Roman Campbell - this time on a permanent deal having left Gillingham today (Wednesday)."

Campbell tweeted: "Sad to be leaving the Gills. Been at the club since 13 and have enjoyed every moment.

"Great club with some even better people that have helped me on my journey so far. Looking forward to this new adventure!"
