County honours for two schoolgirl cricketers

TWO Medway schoolgirls will lead their county teams into battle in the new cricket season. The pair, both from Rochester Girls’ Grammar School, have been appointed by the Kent Cricket Board to captain their respective county age group teams.

Moira Comfort, 16, from Chatham, will lead the Kent Under-17 Girls against Middlesex, Surrey, Essex, Hertfordshire and Berkshire in the south section of ECB national championship. Moira also recently passed the Level 1 Coaching Award. She plays locally for Lordswood and Holmesdale.

Emma Plush, 12, from Walderslade, Chatham, will lead the Kent Under-13 Girls against Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire in the South East Counties League. Last year Emma captained the Kent Under-11 and they had a 100 per cent record in county matches.
