Dynamos in search for netminder

Glen Jackson has joined Romford Raiders

Invicta Dynamos' netminder issues look to continue beyond Christmas as head coach Kevin Parrish widens his search for Glen Jackson’s replacement.

Jackson left last week to join English Premier League Romford Raiders, and Parrish was less than impressed.

His departure meant Mos were forced to play against Oxford last Sunday without a replacement netminder.

“I’m not happy with the way Glen left,” said Parrish. “He came to me last Tuesday and said Romford had approached him to be their back-up. I told him to go away and think about it and not to leave us short (for Oxford).

“He then came to me on Thursday and asked for his release. It left us short of a goalie on Sunday which I wasn’t happy about, but the EPL carrot was dangled Glen’s way."

Parrish added: “We’ll be short again for our two games against Milton Keynes this weekend, but I’ve spoken to (Chelmsford coach) Dean Birrell and I hope to sign one of his netminders on a loan deal.”

Damien Welch should be back this week after missing the game at Oxford.

Dynamos face Milton Keynes Thunder away on Saturday (6.30pm), with the return match on Sunday at the Gillingham Ice Bowl (5.15pm).
