Gillingham are hoping to have some of their walking wounded fit for Tuesday's trip to Swindon.

The injuries mounted up last week and led head coach Ady Pennock to make five changes to his starting line-up for Saturday's win over Southend.

Bradley Garmston is definitely out with a hamstring injury, but others will be assessed before the game.

Among them is Bradley Dack and Pennock is hoping the hamstring injury he picked up in training can be shaken off.

“Touch wood it is not serious,” he said.

“If we can get one or two back then it will be great, but Garmston is the only one long-term and it’s a shame for him.”

Byrne felt his hamstring in training and wasn’t risked at the weekend while Deji Oshilaja was still struggling with a groin injury picked up against AFC Wimbledon last week.

Chris Herd (knee) was ruled out on Saturday morning.

Pennock said: “We did some set-plays on Friday and he fell awkwardly when he went up for a header.”

Rory Donnelly was added to the injury list after twisting his ankle and looks set to be sidelined for a while. He was carrying the injury already before being floored by Southend’s Ryan Innis.

Pennock added: “He went up for the header and got smashed in the back.”
