Finn O’Mara is back at Gillingham after his loan spell ended on Saturday.

The young defender has been with the club for the maximum 93-day period that is permitted, playing his last game at the weekend.

O’Mara could now be lining up against Folkestone next week when the two sides meet for a friendly match at the Fullicks Stadium.

For Gillingham, it will be a chance to give some of their fringe first-team players a much-needed work-out.

With the Gills in good form in League 1, boss Steve Lovell hasn’t had to change his team too often, meaning the likes of Conor Wilkinson, Elliott List, Ben Nugent, Liam Nash and Darren Oldaker have had to watch from the sidelines.

New signings Franck Moussa and Navid Nasseri will also be glad of getting extra minutes under their belts.

Folkestone boss Neil Cugley said: “They have promised a fairly strong side and we can expect that it will include Finn O’Mara so that we can all thank him for everything he contributed for us during his three months on loan here.”

O’Mara’s last game for Folkestone – who are captained by former Gills player Callum Davies - was in a 3-3 draw with Hendon. Davies scored twice in that game.

Davies had been partnered at the back by O’Mara, who had two spells with the Bostik Premier side, starting 18 games and making three substitute appearances in total.

Kick off on Tuesday night is 7.30pm and admission on the gate is charged at £5 for adults and £3 concessions.
