Chatham Town have expanded their community support scheme and are now offering free counselling.

The club’s management, coaches and committee members have been offering a number of services during the Covid-19 lockdown including a delivery service for the vulnerable.

Whether it’s a need for someone to chat with, a food bank, a food delivery service or an errand service, the club are willing to do their bit.

And now one of their supporters, Russell Kimble, has offered counselling to anyone in need.

Kimble is a qualified mental health first aider who runs his own support groups and holds regular mental health seminars with hospitals and key workers.

Chats said: “As a community club we want to ensure our supporters and their loved ones feel they have a person they can talk to, whether that is via email, over the phone or even via a video chat.

Russell can be reached by phone on 07921 295220 or email at russellkimble@gmail.com

Chatham's CTFC (Covid-19 Team For the Community) Team are offering their services to “vulnerable people in the community who are self isolating.”

They can provide a chat service, staying in touch with people to ensure they are okay, a food bank to collect food parcel donations while also offering to deliver it to those who are in need and an errand service for anyone that needs help.

“We, as a club, want to reach out to those in need in the community by assisting in these areas,” say the Maidstone Road outfit.

The football season is over for Chatham Town and they hope to help the community instead

Chairman Kevin Hake added: “Please stay at home, stay safe and together we will beat this.”

The club can be messaged on social media or through email at partners@chathamtownfc.com if you need help or can offer help and donations.

Chats play in the Southern Counties East Football League and their season is over, after the FA expunged the 2019/20 season.

It's a decision that has caused controversy and one which their own league didn't agree with.
